Choose a different library
To choose a different library or location hold down the option key at launching iPhoto to get the following dialog. You can also create a new library at any location you choose from this same dialog.
Repair iPhoto database
If your iPhoto program is acting abnormally, photos are missing, thumbnail views are not showing up, you can repair the library database. Hold down the Command-Option keys while launching iPhoto.
